LOUISIANA’S VOTING MACHINES ARE 15-YEARS OLD

Old equipment is susceptible to hacking and electoral fraud

The State of Louisiana will continue to use its 15-year old voting equipment for the 2020 Presidential Election. Louisiana uses the same equipment statewide, and its Election Day voting equipment (AVC Advantage from Sequoia) has been used since 2006. Also, AVC Advantage is easily hackable and lacks a paper trail to detect vote count mistakes.

LOUISIANA VOTER’S DATA OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Voter’s party affiliation easily accessible

The State of Louisiana provides an online voting portal. This application requires only a voter’s name, last name, residence’s zip code, and month/year of birth to access it. Any person with such information could then access a voter’s party affiliation and other general information (voter’s polling location, districts, elected officials, registrar of voters etc.)

LOUISIANA’S VOTER DATABASE LEAKED AND SOLD ON HACKING FORUMS

Louisiana voter’s confidential data has been exposed since 2016

In September 2016, researchers from MacKeeper Security Research Center discovered an open and publicly available database that contained detailed information on every voter in the state of Louisiana.

They found two databases, one containing voter’s name, address, sex, race, political party, phone number, and voting history of almost 3 million voters; and a second containing voter’s Full Name, Residence Address, Race, Sex, DOB, Height, Weight, Residence Parish code, Driving License Number, SSN code (but not the SSN itself), and issue number of almost 7 million people (including deceased)

Further, these databases have been sold on hacking forums and a hacker could easily use such information to enter any voter’s online profile and alter voter’s registration data.

11 FELONY CHARGES AGAINST DA HOPEFUL IN ORLEANS PARISH

LA ranks 9th nationwide in federal prosecutions of public corruption

City Council President Jason Williams faces an 11-count indictment for conspiracy, tax fraud, and failure to required IRS forms for cash transactions. Williams believes the charges were brought against him because of politics and blame the current DA Leon Cannizzaro for the probe. Cannizzaro denied the allegations and is not seeking re-election for the DA seat. According to a U.S Department of Justice study, over the past decade, the District Courts of Louisiana ranked 9th among U.S. attorneys’ offices nationwide for public corruption convictions.
