CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED TO VOTE IN NORTH DAKOTA, BUT IS NOT VERIFIED
Identification is provided to anyone with proof of residency in the state
To vote identification is required, North Dakota will be mailing out ballots to everyone who has an ID with the DOT. The DOT does not verify citizenship when providing identification, and ND does not have voter registration to verify citizenship. The SOS's website states that a poll worker can tell if a voter is a citizen in some instances if the ID has a marking of "non-domiciled." For traditional in-person voting, the poll worker will ask if the voter is a citizen, with all mail voting this question will not be asked of the voter.
