Database securities are more important than ever. Maintaining voter registration rolls and cross checking those rolls with death certificates, moving out of state, changing party affiliations needs to be corrected. Even identifying, people who cannot be voting like felons, green card or migrant holders, and foreign visitors. While it is not illegal to be registered in more than one county/state, it is illegal to vote more than once. Voter rolls should be diligently maintained to eliminate the possibility of double voting or voting for another person.
But database security doesn’t stop there. The Secretary of State website for posting election results need to be protected as do the county clerk back office operations. Cybersecurity is a multilayered issue from analog users to technical wizards to law enforcement.
